Not very stormy.....
First day of a scuba diving trip to Tenerife. Had no idea what to expect, have dived in Australia, Galapagos, Gozo and Dahab before.
What a great place to dive! We set out from this gorgeous harbour in Las Silencio on a bright orange "rib" boat. Great fun speeding across the bay to the dive site. Known as Yellow Mountain we were greeted by some flabby white mountains on the beach - nudity seems to be ok on any random beach here. Needless to say we stayed in our boat and kitted up. When entering the water from a rib you just lean back and fall in.
The underwater architecture is wonderful. Volcanic and other worldly. and the fish life was brilliant. We saw two fighting cuttlefish , they squirt ink like squid when cross. There was also a lovely " swim through" a tunnel with soft corals inside. As we came out the other side we were in the blue , visibility must have been 30m. As we started off round some of the rock formations out to our left we saw a swirl of 150-200 barracuda. Wonderful sight.
After the dive we had lunch back at the marina and then dived the aptly named "rays" Atlantic Rays as big as me and the local celebrity "myrtle the turlte" who is so friendly she came right up to my mask.
Now knackered and planning a beer by the pool to recover.
Hope the house is still standing at home !
