The gothic tower

Well, as predicted, the storm didn't really affect us. One tree has been uprooted in the park and lots of small twigs are lying on the ground.

One good thing about it was that everything was clear and bright this morning. As I drove past this building today the sun was picking out the tower and I was reminded that when we were younger and full of dreams we nearly bought this property. In those days it had been converted to offices and left to become quite run down. The price was quite cheap but just slightly over what we had. My plan was to convert it back into a family home. We mulled it over for a good while but in the end a developer beat us to it. Today it is converted into flats which was probably the best thing to do but I do still look at it wistfully from time to time and think 'all that could have been ours'
