Heading for the Moon

In touring around Lake Eyre in central Australia I came across this unusual sight. There it was located in a field way out in "the sticks" as we say in Australia.
Nothing around to indicate if there was a meaning to why it had been set up as such but suffice to say it sparked my interest.

The scene is typical of the "outback" as you can see. In the distance is a small mountain which is the only high spot in what is otherwise a desert area.
Should you visit sometime, and tranquility is your desire, then you will find no better place on earth.
