A mystery afoot

In the end, curiosity got the better of me.

So, after staring at it in confusion, I ask her to come and look at the computer screen.

She seems so delighted. I have no idea why, and it makes me distrustful.

I'm also embarrassed to show her the photograph. I mean, it's all over the place. But some days, that's how it is.

Some days I can't see the image in my mind, can't remember any of the old tricks of framing. I just point the camera, knowing it's all wrong and knowing I can't do a thing about it.

Ugly.

She looks, and nods. "What is it you want to know?"

I explain that I understand most of the words, what they mean. But I can't make sense of them. Just what, exactly, is a shoe bank?
