Fish

Another one of J's shots.

It's always been something that has signified coming back to Kendal, after a trip somewhere. You open the car door in Asda's car park, or get off the train at Oxenholme and there's a faint tang of sheep.

Here, we've had the same vague background scent of fish for weeks.

It's what has kept the whales, dolphins, seals, pelican and millions of seagulls in the bay for all that time. Now they are starting to wash up on the beach.

I can't even imagine how many of these there were to start with. The whole bay must have been like fish soup.
