Saddell Bay III

As we head each week to Campbeltown for the shopping there is a view that is increasingly eluding us. As we climb out of Saddell up a steep hill we get very small glimpses of Saddell Bay through the trees and thick undergrowth. Years ago there was a splendid view of the bay with Arran in the distance, but the trees have almost hidden it now.

Each week I think about how I might get a blip of the view and where the best vantage point might be. Today I decided we would stop on the way back from town so I could explore the roadside at the top of the hill. Sure enough there were glimpses of the bay but every position was at least partly obstructed by trees. With Mrs B waiting impatiently in the car time was of the essence. There was nothing for it but to start climbing a very small tree to get a better vantage point. Even then small branches and twigs got in the way of the lens and had to be torn off the tree. At least the sun put in a brief, although muted, appearance and a little fishing boat appeared in the distance for today's tree top blip!
