Shades of Winter

Spent the weekend in Glasgow where we attended a surprise joint 60th birthday party for 2 very close friends. We have known them for most of those years and it was great to see the look on their faces when they saw us all in their daughter's house. A wonderful occasion for family and friends and great to be part of it.

It was also good to see the weather improved today with both sunshine and blue skies. As we drove home in mid afternoon the clouds were increasing but the low sun cast a lovely light on the last of the autumn colours in the trees and the dying bracken on the hills. Mrs B was even keen for me to stop to try and capture the scene and, even although I only had my wee compact with me, I was happy t oblige.

The sun shining on BenLoch Lomond (cue a certain song!)at this time of year is always lovely, but when it's capped with the first snow of the winter it's a wee bit special!
