Samhain Blessings

As opens the veil
Twixt our world and theirs
So enter we the time
Of tricks, treats and scares

Children run laughing
As parental candy flows
While spirits drift among them
Touching like Winter's snows

The heat of laughter
Rises to crescendo unbidden
While wraiths encircle
Glorying in small time given

Child of spirit cries alongside
Their mother this night
Each enveloped in each other
As though they'd second sight

Praying for this night to stay
desperate for the time to remain
Praying they might exist
Permanently in the time of Samhain
