In the news today

Today is our last day in London.

Mrs. P and I were invited to join our MP for a cup of tea at the end of Adam's work experience. We sat in a very nice lounge overlooking The thames and had a very relaxed chat before the Division Bell rang and he had to go and vote.

Earlier in the day Mrs. P and I paid a visit to St Martin in The Field church at Trafalgar Square. A beautiful Church but it highlighted the plight of so many people in London. At first In thought there were a lot of people praying but they were in fact homeless people taking respite from the weather.

A walk along The Strand took us to St Clements Church, and at 12 o'clock we heard the famous "Oranges and Lemons" bell ringing.

The blip is of a piece of history.
Today is the first day that British Court proceedings have been televised.
Here we see The BBC reporting from The Royal Courts of Justice.

We didn't know the public were allowed in. We do now. It is a truly magnificent building from both the outside and inside.

It's been a very good trip.
