Last Day :(

Hi Tom

Had quite a day today. Started off with a gym session. I've loved the gym here. Never too busy, cool, spacious and they bring you ice cold flannels just at the right time. Think I'll see about joining Riverside when I get home. I bet they don't have cold flannels coming round though.

Then my friend turned up. It was so lovely seeing Sharon, her man Dave and his future son-in-law Scott. Scott lives here with Dave's daughter. We showed them around our room and we all went for a swim. Then we went off to the beach and bar. We stayed there quite a while and after a few cocktails we all went back to Scott's apartment.

He has a really lovely apartment, with views over the city. Then we went off to eat at a golf and yacht club, which was on the Dubai Creek. The meal was wonderful, and the restaurant was incredible.

We got a taxi back to our hotel where we had a table booked at the Thai restaurant called Mekong. They gave us this appetiser which I have blipped. You take a leaf, make it into a cone shape, then add a piece of lime, ginger, onion, dried shrimp, chilli, peanuts and tamarind paste. You then fold the leaf up and pop it in your mouth. Here the girl is showing us how to do it.

Once again the meal at the Mekong was wonderful. I feel like I've eaten for England today.

Back to the room to pack as we are leaving here at 11.00 in the morning.

O well I guess all good things come to an end.
