Tantallon

Another busy Saturday. I took our French visitor,Marie, to North Berwick this morning to see the beach and the town while I visited my mother. Marie is the daughter of Vincent, a friend from over 35 years ago when I lived in Lille and is staying with us for a week or so to improve her English. We are working on her Scots accent.

After a lovely soup and sandwich lunch we went to Tantallon the 14th castle belonging to the Douglas family, badly ruined by Cromwell's army. It is a dramatic setting - and today was cold, damp and windy. But fun.

Then back to Edinburgh, more shopping then off to see Sunshine on Leith - in Leith. Odd experience watching a film in a cinema then seeing the real thing as you step out!
