Dolly

Meet Dolly the sheep, the first mammal to be cloned.

She was born in 1996 at Edinburgh University, and her current resting place is a display cabinet in the National Museum of Scotland.

She was given her name because the cell used as the donor for the cloning of Dolly was taken from a mammary gland, and the scientists responsible said they couldn't think of a more impressive pair of glands than Dolly Parton's.

If she's been born a few years later, she would no doubt have been called Jordan.
