A view from Jeanneb

First and last.

It has been a day of two halves. This morning we had our first frost which was quite severe with some black ice on the roads but it made for a glorious day.

We set of before 8.00 to Wilsden and we walked via Wilsden Hill to Harecroft where we had this great view of Hewenden viaduct and the moors beyond. Returning via the path above Bents Lane you can see the turning shades of the trees at Hallas Bridge, the top end of Goit Stock woods. The building above the trees is the farm where I was born and to the right above it you can see the edge of Catstones Moor.

In complete contrast, to make the most of the fine weather, I went with my friend to Harlow Carr, a trip postponed from last Monday because of the rain.
The biggest surprise was seeing this butterfly amongst the dying Dhalias, must be amongst the last especially if we get more frost like this morning.
