Riding Along in My Automobile
Its inevitable....that one day, when least expecting it, you will end up in what is commonly referred to as a traffic jam!!!
At the entrance to Karama where where we reside, six very speedy lanes converge quite rapidly into a single lane which is being filter fed by a seventh road sneaking in disguised as an underpass! If this is not a recipe for disaster, I don't know what is.
There are a few options though.
Be kind and merge nicely? No way
Hoot loudly and wave frantically? Possibly
Push and jockey vigorously? Favourite!
Or you can do as we did.....pull alongside lane two and share a cordial salutation with the next door driver.
He had such a laid back attitude and I could understand why when I noticed the name of the company he worked for!!!
I wonder what's in their showroom! Camel stools with the option of one or two humps?? Bet they have a fleet of delivery vans specially equipped to transport your tent in pristine condition, with money back guarantee if it rains in during the first twelve months!....Not to mention their freight forwarding company the Dromedary Express....The mind boggles.
He was delighted at my interest in his van and happily posed as we both ignored the hoots and impatience of the vehicles behind! Momentarily we became the reason for the jam...but whats one stolen second amidst such havoc!! We all still made it home before the stroke of midnight!!!
Happy blipping everyone
