Soft glow
We had a lovely morning at Home Ed group. We made jar lanterns, blanket dens and treacle toffee that didn't set and is now a sticky, gooey mess sitting in trays in the kitchen waiting for me to decide what in the heck to do with it.
I have also started a new thing where I read the same book 5 days in a row with the kids and try to do some activities based on that book. This week it has been "The Tiger that Came to Tea." Chickpea loves the book and giggled the first time we read it in anticipation of letting the tiger into the house. Monkey seems to enjoy it too. We have had some fun talking about camouflage and looking up pictures of animals that use camouflage. CP and even Monkey enjoyed finding and identifying the animals. We also attempted creating a tiger dance to Katy Perry's "Roar," but that will have to be a work in progress. We looked up youtube videos of songs from "Cats" to see how a tiger might dance, if a tiger could dance and CP said that when she's a mommy she would like to do a dance like that. Today CP drew stripes onto a tiger and even wrote her name for the first time (only needing to trace the C)! We talked about what other kinds of animals might come for tea and CP decided she would be ok if a horse came over. She didn't like the idea of him eating all of our food, though. All in all it's been fun so far. It's nice to have a little bit of direction, it's sparked all of our creativity a bit and led us to do and talk about things we may not have thought of at all.
Unfortunately, soon after this picture CP started feeling poorly, maybe she even felt poorly here. She even went to bed before 8 tonight which is very rare! Hoping whatever it is doesn't hit her too hard.
