It's big Al's birthday on Wednesday but the forecast looked rubbish so we swopped it round and made it today instead.

Round the top of the loch and back, then along another loch and back. Plenty of time to stop and look at the sun and the light on the leaves and the water and just be.

Back home and to reality with a bump. One child spending the evening in the doghouse and eventually retreating to bed at least an hour early. To give him his due, he was calm throughout. To give me my due, so was I. I hope it's lesson learned.
