A tranquil spot with fresh spring greens, calm reflections and a good variety of ducks, down at the Masterton Boatsheds. It's a busy place during the long hot days of summer, people picnicking, strolling, feeding ducks and having fun on the water. Hubby had his first after school job here cycling along the path telling kids there time was up, I wonder how many listened to him.
The boatsheds are in QEII Park which was established over 130 years ago, a huge area set aside for good old fashioned family fun. There is a children's playground, aviary, mini golf, petanque, deer park, swing bridge, cricket oval, bandstand, train rides and gardens with mature old trees to walk and admire, it's an asset to the city.
Today was a little muddly as daughter A came with us to Masterton but was called back to Wellington for the second part to a job interview. Hubby and I took her as the train timetable didn't suit, we are now waiting to hear how she went - fingers crossed.
Just about time for tea - Happy Tuesday blippers :)
