First winter hay.
Where to start today? It was a day of many blips and many things to talk about.
First of all the blip. This is Twinkle eating her first winter hay of this year. She is 31 years young and has a disease called Cushings Syndrome which is caused by a tumour of the pituitary gland which causes symptoms such as growth of a course wavy coat and excessive thirst. She is living on borrowed time and this may be her last winter so this is quite a poignant blip. I have known her for a very long time and my children have often ridden her. I like this shot of her with BenNevis covered in snow and shrouded in mist in the background and frost on the ground.
Her owner is my best friend and after we took this we went to her house to thaw out. She is a beautiful person both inside and out and she has been diagnosed with adult ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) which causes her to struggle a bit at times. Today, since I had done it myself, she asked me to help her with sorting out her electricity tariff. It eventually involved me speaking on her behalf followed by much merriment and giggling about the whole situation because afterwards we read some guidence for people with ADHD which suggested that they used a "body double" to do such things as phoning or to help with anything which causes them excess stress. So that's what I was today....a body double!! According to her I am a body double often....who knew!!
Afterwards I continued my research into Kitchenaids by visiting yet another person who owns one and grilling them about it!! I'm thinking of one for Christmas but I like a bit of research before I buy!! If you are reading this and you have one let me know any good or bad points!!
I hope you had a productive day too!!
