Barry Island Bangers

This evening me and my girls, Caitlin and Carys and her boyfriend Myles headed over to Barry Island to watch the free 40th Fireworks Extravaganza. Thankfully it wasn't too cold and there was only a brief shower on our arrival.

There were a fair few thousand people down there and hence long queues at all the chip shops and burger vans etc! You can't visit Barry Island without the obligatory bag of chips!! When we did actually get some, they were certainly worth the wait.

We managed to get a good spot on the promenade to set up my tripod whilst we tucked into our chips and waited for the fireworks to start.

The fireworks were set off across the water, from Friars Point and all in time to the music being played on the pa system. It was very good indeed and well worth the visit, despite getting separated from Carys and Myles and having to wait ages for them back at the car! Also took an age to get out of the car park so lesson learned for next year.... Better to park the car on the Barry side and walk over to the Island instead of taking the car over!!

I was quite pleased with how this turned out, never used this sort of shutter speed before!
