At "Later.... With Jools Holland"

Earlier in the year we were fortunate to get tickets to see to TV programme "Later... with Jools Holland" being recorded and going out live. On that occasion we saw Texas, Queens of Stone and Robert Plant amongst others. So when the opportunity came up again to apply for tickets we did, little expecting to get them this time around.

But we did, and this time we saw The Killers, Boy George, The Orwells (from Chicargo) Jimmy Webb (world renowed song writer - Galveston, Whychita Lineman etc) Justin Currie (Del Amitri), Chase and Status and Denai Moore. A great evening, close to such musical talent, compared by the exuberant Jools Holland.

In the way in there were copious signs saying no phones and no cameras, but it was a bit like trying to keep a snowball frozen in the Sahara. I was very good and only took this in the break between the recorded programme and the one that was going out live. At the end of the show one or two of the performers had their photographs taken with the audience and I managed one or teo with Brandon Flowers of The Killers.

Tickets for this event usd to be like gold dust, but the programme has been moved from London to the huge TV studios just about a mile from where we live so there is not a huge London sized audience on the doorstep.

Earlier in the day we'd had a builder around to give his opinion on a leak which was causing water to come into the conservatory. It appears that the problem lies where the bedroom extension (whcih was here when we bought the prpoerty) joins the main roof. A poor design, which I see has been replicated on every similar extension in the street. Looks like a costly repair is on the cards.
