Getting ready for the lumbar puncture

Today was a bit of a comedy of errors. Firstly everyone forgot that Alex needed to be nil by mouth - thankfully he didn't have much breakfast so we only waited until lunchtime, which was also fine as his room wasn't ready on his ward until then...

The ward is 100% full and we are actually in one of the isolation rooms rather than the normal ones. It's much nicer because the pump sits outside the room (we don't hear it and the nurses don't have to disturb us). It's also much nicer with a better shower room. We've been spoiled now ;-)

Alex is in really good spirits - everyone who comes in has to have a sword fight with him! Thankfully the nurses, doctors, visitors etc don't seem to mind.
