Nature triumphs

This is an old building that sits in a wooded area right on the edge of the road near our house. It is being reclaimed by natural growth and I don't think it will be long before it tumbles.

A huge fern has taken up residence in the centre. Laden with wetness, it was a little drooped today - but still majestic.

Today has been very wet but I went out just as the weather improved slightly and a perfectly clear light surrounded everything with the distant hills a deep rusty red from the now sodden bracken. But this was the image I wanted as I had blipped it several times before without using it - and today I even had a tripod with me so this must be getting serious!
