Halloween

Trick or treating stopped many years ago for me, far earlier than it should have. I was born and briefly brought up in the US, so started out life with all the traditions and the fun. But after we moved to Guernsey in 1980 I don't remember it continuing. It was a long time ago now, and few of the American customs which seem ubiquitous in the UK now had found a foothold yet.

I'm sure that when we move house and actually have a ground floor, that we'll face the next costumed generation, and despite my misanthropic exterior I think I'm looking forward to being the neighbour gifting the sweets at last.
