Water babies!

Well we didn't go to the zoo today. Thought it might be too hot and too hard with just one of me and two of them! Will save it for another day!

Instead we played at home, I filled the play table with water which they love, then they wanted to go in the little pool, which I filled with water and they had a splash around - in their clothes!! Then they both wanted Spider-Man towels and to sit on the chairs together!

We went to the park, home for a sleep, lunch, more playing, another swim in the pool then it was time to go to school!

After school I took the kids to Moffat park for a play with Dom, one of Spencer's friends from school. We were there for an hour but it was really windy and they weren't playing very nicely with each other or other kids in the park so we came home! I think Spence was too tired after a big week at school!

There are only three weeks of school left for the year, then they have 2 months off before going into Year One! It's gone so quick! I spoke to Fi, Spence's teacher after school today to see how he is going and she said that his enthusiasm is back which is great and now they are working on keeping our hands to ourselves. It is a problem with mist of the boys in the class and spence isn't doing anything maliciously, he just thinks things are funny to him when they aren't to others! So that is the next thing to work on!

I also asked her about his reading and how he was going because it is becoming a chore to get him to read his reader every night. The books are longer with a lot more words on them now so he gets overwhelmed a bit with I think then doesn't want to do it. Reading is so important and great so I don't want it to become a negative experience but Fi said he is going great and is reading at an end of Year One level so is a whole year ahead of where he should be! So that made me feel better, she said not to stress about it and even if we want to read alternate pages together then that is fine!

So he is going pretty well! We were worried about sending him to school this year, whether he was ready or to give him another year of Kinder, but I'm pleased we did. His maturity was the thing we were worried about but other than normal boy behavior, he is coping fine and doing really well at school work!
