Bit of a bush walk!

I have some good friends who are disguised as Mountain Goats. A few weeks ago they took me on a lovely 8km walk of their property through some native bush. It was a good, enjoyable walk and I certainly felt the walk in my inner thighs the next day!!!! But it wasn't especially uphill. So today they took me on another bush walk.
THis time we headed off to a property a bit further out on the 'Shenandoah'. They got permission from the farm owners to go in to Cliff Lake (and an Italian named lake, the name of which escapes me) When I asked how far it was they said about 5km but walk would take about 4 hours.
Well they were wrong on both counts (I hope it was more than 5km) It took us 8 hours!!!!!! And I was flecked by the end - and I mean FECKED! I slipped and fell numerous time (not like me am pretty steady on my feet) At one point I slipped and my left leg went under me and my knee was extremely painful after the point! I am covered in bruises and scratches and had bits of bush in every available orifice! I gave up trying to keep my feet dry and lost my foot in bog on more than one occasion! There wasn't one single metro of actual track - it was real bush walking!

This view was from the top of the first rise looking out over the Shenandoah. I Thought I had done the hard part at this point - as had been all uphill (as you can probably tell) but oh how wrong I was - that was the easy bit!!!

I am proud of myself for doing it but as I said to Rog (one of the goats) 'It's bait like labour - at the moment I'm still in the throes of and I am never having children again" (in the case I am never doing a bush walk again) No doubt when they email next I will be cooing over the baby and wanting more!!!!

If you look at my flickr page here you will see a couple fo shots of a lovely waterfall
