We shall never forget....

Today is remembrance Sunday - a day when we stop and remember those who gave their lives so we (and others) may live in a free society. Not only from the Great War and the second World War - but also from recent conflicts - Iraq and Afghanistan.

The poppy has become a symbol that we may never forget those who not only have paid the ultimate sacrifice by the giving of their lives, but also those who have become permanently scared (whether mentally or physically) as a result of conflict.

This is a poppy that was still growing in my garden this morning - still managing to survive the cold - still a reminder....

....and for those whom this Sunday is a significant poignant day - our thanks go out to your loved ones...and may you know comfort and peace in your loss today.
