Flatirons
First, I need to thank all of you for your wonderful outpouring of kind regards for the passing of J's mum. We are deeply touched. Despite the sadness of losing her, we are doing well and are very thankful.
Today, we were given the gift of peace. After a wonderful time at church, we had a great brunch at the Boulderado Hotel in Boulder. We walked the mall, and J and I got some great people shots. The Boulder mall is just pure entertainment - from street musicians, acrobats to mimes. We also found the clock that we have been looking for. And it was such a beautiful day that we for a hike below the Flatirons.
The Flatirons are a unique set of rock formations. I was fortunate to be able to capture all five of the main Flatiron formation, number one to five from left to right. They consist of conglomerate sandstone known as the Fountain formation which extends throughout the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. This is a very popular place to hike and rock climb. Some say that it is the spiritual center of the universe.
I took this shot just as the sun was setting and the light beams were being separated by the "teeth" of the structure. I am hoping to do a sunrise and early morning shot in the near future.
We are so thankful for today as it gave the two of us a chance to just talk at a deep level, and just support each other.
