Caught up together in the clouds
"After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
This morning I woke up early, just at sunrise, took the dogs out, and noticed these beautiful cloud formations. I ran into the house and grabbed my camera and started shooting away. Unfortunately, I didn't reset from the night before, and my ISO was way too high for the shot. Lesson learned.
A short time later, we received a phone call that my mother-in-law was in her final hours. We quickly headed out the door for the 45 minute drive to her long term care home. About 25 minutes later as we were driving, we received another call from the head nurse - "Shirlee passed away about 10 minutes ago."
All the way down to the home, I noticed this cloud in all its beauty, moving toward the east.
We had made all of the arrangement previously, so after saying our "good-byes", we went and had lunch, came back to the home and cleaned out her room. Most of her belongings that she had at the home were donated, but we kept a few items.
On the drive home late this afternoon, we watched one of the most beautiful sunsets we had ever seen. I wished I had my camera with me, but I didn't. Perhaps it is just as well. We will remember it!
Shirlee went home to be with the Lord, and all heaven is celebrating her homecoming. We, who love her and are still here, celebrate with her!
