Island Sunset

Remembrance on this island is deeply moving. A massive turn out in church with half the school in youth organisations uniform. Led by the Cumbrae Pipe Band and the Legion Pipe Band, the parade, including a uniformed westie, left school and marched to church, then left church with the congregation walking behind. We walked to the cenotaph where a further service took place. It was very emotional and with the backdrop of the water and pure blue sky, it was beautiful. I spent the afternoon in the community garden weeding in the poly tunnel and planting daffodils along the perimeter fence. I am going to enjoy working in there. I walked to the Hush Hush, a landing spot during the war, and revelled in the beauty and peace of the setting sun going down over Arran.
