Veteran's Day

We needed a good walk this morning before that long plane ride so here you have the Civil War Cemetery up on Capitol Hill near where we used to live. It's called the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery and is maintained by the Parks Department and the GAR volunteers. It has 526 graves. We weren't the only ones there on this Veteran's day to pay our respect. There is more information about this place HERE.

I suspect almost everyone has a veteran and their stories in their family somewhere. would that we had a world where that wasn't so!

11/11 is also the birthday of our firstborn son (47 years ago-eek!) who will be coming by in an hour with daughter Tatum to take us to the airport. It's so wonderful to have them so close by. (and someone must have raised him right! :-) )
