Dubai!

Here we are in Dubai after a long flight ( not full, thank goodness). Our friends Dan and Diane who are traveling with us, and we decided to take the metro from our emirates hotel to the stop with the tallest building in the world - the Burj khalifa- the hotel person said it was a pleasant walk from the metro past some streets and buildings-he didn't say it was indoor moving sidewalk that went forever! It's 8 ft shorter than that building! And then the mall which also went forever- everything is shiny and glitsy. No outdoor sidewalks it seems . No one walks anywhere. We got to the biggest musical fountain in the world in time for the 10:30 pm show -it's 100 times like Seattle center. Beautiful. But you've seen pictures of the building... So I thought I'd blip some of the people. Robes and short skirts . There are signs all over the mall that one must dress in "respectful" attire with a picture of something longer! so I'm not sure about those 2 in motion. Will eventually have photos with fountain, metro etc on Flickr - after I'm home. Had a short nap in the hotel and then couldn't sleep so paying for 30 min of Internet in the great coffee shop at 5:00 am. Plane to Entebbe at 8:00. It's 80 degrees. Lovely. ( the temp, not this place)....
