Can Sammy snail cross the dangerous crevasse?

Another wet and wintery day today, although I don't mind some light rain like we had today, no wild winds to go with it, just steady light showers all afternoon. I actually much prefer these mid teen to low twenties temps than our hot summers.

This little one was just outside our front door on the deck tonight, I wonder how much longer it will take him/her to get wherever it's going? I wonder if snails do know where they are headed? or do they just shzmooze around until they find somewhere they like or something to eat? So many questions.
