Karate Kid
Not happy with my birding today. A couple of rosellas visited us, but every shot I got was meh or terrible. Focus wasn't good, the red was smeary and indistinct, exposure was crap ... So I took my camera with me when I left the house, hoping I'd find something on the walk to work, or perhaps I could annoy mrs tsuken by taking the camera to lunch with us ...
As I was leaving though, I also gave mstr 6 the pumped up football he had asked me last night to pump up. Pleasingly, he put down the iPad , grabbed the ball, and ran outside. So I went click click click before walking off to work. This Karate Kid impersonation - larger here - is my favourite of the shots I got. I don't think its all that technically good, but I like the moment.
I've found with this manual lens, the responsiveness and rapidity with which you can take a shot is a real bonus with manual focus. There's no auto-focus hunting; however fast it is, it can be annoying. If you've had a scene in focus, then take a second shot, it's really nice with the manual lens to not have the camera search for focus again, and just let you take the photo.
