Muttley's Musings

Granddad

Well this isn't the blip that I was intending to share with you today. I had been out for the day to Donna Nook to watch the Grey Seals on the dunes and took a really nice photo which you can see here.

However when I got home I received a phone call to say that my Granddad had passed away peacefully in Hospital after deteriorating suddenly and quickly during the morning. Fortunately I had seen him the weekend before when I was last home visiting my family, and he was fine and happy and was just sitting down for Sunday Lunch with my Gran in their care home.

He was a brilliant Granddad, he was always taking me places to see and do things when I was little. He was always making things for people, even if he got the dimensions wrong a little bit. The bird table that looked more like a Gothic Mansion, and my train set baseboard which pretty much filled my bedroom are two that spring to mind. I will miss many things now that Granddad has moved on, especially taking him out for Fish and Chips for lunch whenever I came home to visit. I remember the last time we did that and how his face lit up when he was told that there was Rice Pudding on the dessert menu.

So here is a portrait I took of my Granddad a few years ago. Rest in Peace Granddad.
