Remembrance

Our city has a memorial in memory of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The site also includes flags in memory and honor of city residents who have served their nation. Five hundred flags are the mainstay of this memorial. Each flag pole has a plaque naming one or more veterans and the war in which they served. Flags of those who died in action are at half staff. It is a very somber, but beautiful, memorial. A ceremony was held there earlier today, but I waited until evening to take this picture. I wasn't alone. There was a steady stream of visitors, most with cameras. America will never forget September 11, '01 or those who have sacrificed for their country.
