Christmas Stars!
Singers from my school, St Teresa's Year 5 and 6 are taking part in Free Radio's "Christmas Stars" Competition!
The radio station came to record our children today Thursday 14th November and we recorded a specially written song "Child of God" which we feel embodies the real meaning of Christmas.
We entered this competition last year and were runners up - this year - if we get enough votes we could be victorious! It is run "X Factor Style" and the school with the most votes will go through to the next round - therefore despite our song and singers being amazing, it becomes a popularity contest. We are rallying round already - posters are up etc and we are taking the children "on tour" to a local shopping centre next week to drum up local support!
Want to hear us? As far as we know, our school will be on air on Friday 22nd November. The breakfast guys will be talking about it from 6 -9am (they can't be more specific!) and they will play snippets throughout the day.
The voting takes place online at Christmas Stars- the individual pages will be ready for next week for voting. Voting opens midnight to midnight on our specific day.
It's been a tough term with the fire damage for the whole school. What a triumph over adversity it would be to get through to the next round!
This is an unashamed plug, go on - bookmark and vote for us!
