The last golden tree
It was another but may be the last really warm day: 21 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to drop by 16 degrees F. So I took Maggie for another walk into Bartley's Ranch where we can always find the most beautiful views and colors. I know, you all have seen a lot of fall colors, but I just couldn't resist. This is a big rather wide Cottonwood tree, they belong to the few trees that grew in this area next to the (Truckee) river, when the first settlers came. They belong to the Poplar family but they don't grow as upright as Poplars. They can grow quite tall!
We saw theHarras Ranch in the distance. Many very big mansions in Reno belong to the Casino owners, and Harras is one of them. The Harras Family also owns Casinos in South Lake Tahoe and in Las Vegas. It shows here the big stable building and riding hall in the front, the little tower and some of the other roofs belong to the family home. It has hundreds of acres of meadows and other fields. I liked that picture because of the background and the airplane in the sky.
Thank you all for your kind and appreciative reactions to my quails from yesterday's Blip.
