FIRST BLUE JAY!

Woohoo! A blue jay came to my yard today - the first one! I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it… The blue jay was the one bird I was so hoping would show up some day, but none had stopped by yet. I just think they’re unusually beautiful! This one didn’t stay long – it went from a tree branch to the ground, and then was off. I’m just so glad to have a picture of it (even though I’d prefer a different background). Hopefully he’ll stop back at the peanut feeder – I understand they really love peanuts.

This was a day of firsts – I saw a rabbit hopping up out of the woods to my neighbor's border. It managed to sit still long enough for a photo (on Flickr). Our trip to Detroit today took most of the day, so I was very lucky to get these pictures before we left this morning. It was pitch dark by the time we were back home.
