This is not a native ladybird

In fact, in this shot, I'm not sure whether she looks more like a Wagnerian heroine or a cartoon character.

I've hardly had any ladybirds in my garden this year - and the few I've seen, I've blipped. Meanwhile, down the road, on the concrete wall of the St Matthew's Chapel, there are lots of similar creatures with unfamiliar markings - even now - when the weather is seriously chilly and there isn't consistent sun.

Talking of space... did you see the Professor Brian Cox lecture with Dr Who last night ? I loved it, but couldn't claim to understand or follow it all.... and we're only just over a week away from the next Dr Who milestone.....
