Grau in grau

As the Germans say - grey in grey. I suppose Brits would say "grey and bleak". Nasty east breeze and air saturated with moisture.

Lothar was over from Austria to do his farrier weekend in Bavaria. Rosie lost one of her front shoes last week and has been wearing a boot which seemed to work as Lothar was quite pleased at how the hoof looked. He thinks she is making good progress but he will still have to use the plastic hoof walls to which the iron shoes are screwed on. It's quite time consuming and very costly but hopefully by spring she will be back to being normally shoed.

In the photo (sorry it's so bad but it was horribly cold and dark) he has glued on the right front shoe & it is wrapped in clingfilm to hold it tight during drying.
