Scarborough

We've been running/orienteering around Peasholm Park and adjoining cemeteries in Scarborough today followed by a very enjoyable fish and chip lunch with H1 and Lawrie in a cafe on the newly developed North Bay! Take a look at Lawrie's fabby beach scene!

These beach huts were all locked up for the winter except for one where a family was hosting a picnic with friends arriving. What a lovely way to spend your Sunday lunch, all wrapped up against the weather!

Running round Peasholm Park brought back childhood memories for me. We always holidayed in a caravan at Primrose Valley but would take a day trip to Scarborough to see the enactment of the Battle of the River Plate on the lake here in the Park, probably for the sake of my older brother. I would inevitably cry through the whole thing, the rat-tat of the guns of the planes swooping across on wires and the mini explosions! I managed to find reference to this strange annual event here!
