Still a little color
This azalea isn't confused. It is supposed to bloom 3 times a year though it was too hot this summer for it to want to bloom then. It replaces a pink azalea that had died and very thououghly. I had pulled out my shovel and some smaller digging tools to get all the roots. I grabbed the crown of the poor dead thing expecting not much from tugging on a 20 year old shrub and lifted it free from the ground. The roots had completely rotted away. The color in this blip isn't all I could want. It is more salmon than this image shows. I am excited to see it bloom this late in the year. All of the bright colorscurrently blooming in my garden were put in by me this year. That feels like a bit of an accomplishment. There aren't many but I cherish each one
I did get to take advantage of the brief break in the weather to get rid of the leaves in the front and on one side of the house. The other side and the back of the house will have to wait for another day as the sky is glowering and the winds are picking up in preparation for another bout of wet. I garden in the wet most of the winter, but raking leaves in the wind is an act of futility.
