Better with Mum
We happened to pass through Midmar today, or somewhere near there. As we came to the village we noticed a field with two highland cows and a calf. I stopped the car and we walked back to the the field where they were.
The calf had been next to the road watching what was going on. As I approached the calf scampered back to Mum. From there he/she kept his eyes on us, and never looking away from us while we were there. The mother did not seem the least bit bothered by our presence, and merely briefly acknowledged the closeness of her calf.
After taking a couple of photos we left them in piece. I would have liked them, and the calf in particular, to come a bit closer to the camera. Mum was too busy eating, and the calf more cautious than curious.
