Old #1
I found the assignments on my weekend lensbaby course oddly freeing. I wondered if they'd feel confining and focusing in a way that would go against my 'free spirit'. Instead the focus has opened up exploration, questions and wonder.
With that in mind I've decided to take 'old' as a theme and see what I can do with it for a few days.
New Zealand's european history is quite young. Old buildings for us might date back to the mid-1800s at most. The house in this blip is an early Christchurch home. I don't know the age but I'm guessing it's late 1800s or early 1900s.
I knocked on the door and asked the guy if he'd mind if I took photos. He said it wasn't his place but to click away to my hearts content. So I did. I guess it counts as consent!
The plasterer came first thing this morning and remembered his drop cloth before he started scraping the wall. The final coat of plaster is on now. Sanding, sealing and painting to go.
I've cleaned up the leaves etc from the back courtyard, tidied the succulents and cleared leaves from inside and outside the garage. I think dust got into my lungs. Tonight I sound like a smoker.
I took some time to just 'be' today. My mind and soul appreciated it.
Feeling sad about Sleepy Duck and Imp. I miss them just as you do.
Back to work tomorrow.
