Did some computer work, cleared the house a bit, and cooked bolognese for Pierre and his mates who'd be coming up the following evening. The only thing being, it was made with the horse meat I'd got at the market yesterday. Couldn't even try it so hope it's nice!

Also made sausage, lentil and prune casserole from HFW's fruity book.

Was so glad to see Pierre when he arrived. We sat by the fire and had our tea (the casserole) before heading round to dad's for some Dundee cake.

After making my Christmas cake and pudding during the week, I was craving a fruit cake. I'd done lots of soaking fruit in alcohol, smelling the pudding and cake cooking etc., but couldn't eat any of it as they're obviously for Christmas. So, I talked dad into making his signature cake and we had it with coffee at the end of the evening. Gorgeous, and a craving well satisfied!
