It's cold out here...

This goldfinch that has started to lose its colors was all puffed up trying to keep warm. Today a high of 35 degrees after it being 60 yesterday. That's Michigan for you! The change in temperature brought much activity at the feeders today. In fact, I had to fill up the peanut hearts twice! This is going to be an expensive winter. I took many shots of the goldfinches as they fought for their place at the feeder. At one point, there were 7 hanging on. After ingesting a few, they would fly to the branches above and wait for their next turn. That's what this little fellow is doing, while trying to keep warm. Happy Monday!
