Denholme Delights.
A bitterly cold start to our walk today but it was lovely watching the sun gradually rise whilst the moon was still up at 7.45 this morning.
Lots of crisp frost and some patches of ice but we had a delightful 4.5 mile walk starting at
Wilsden station and heading towards Denholme alongside Hewenden Reservoir.
Some of you may feel that the title (the name of our walk) is a bit of an oxymoron which is perhaps a little unkind to Denholme, even though we do use it as the butt of our jokes in the local Panto. Today was a truly delightful walk, brisk enough to keep the cold at bay and enough frost to make the ground firm. This is a view of Hewenden Viaduct, more often taken from the other side, approached from the Denholme end of the reservoir near Manywells farm.
