Twenty Seven

Today, as those of you looking at my past blips are aware, is my birthday. I turned twenty seven today, and as I have a twin brother, so did he.

It was a predictable fantastic day, due to one Holly Synot. She finds great joy in spoiling people for their birthday, and I am lucky enough to always be on the receiving end of that. She's also amazing at it. If she could organise a business where she puts together birthday surprises and presents for other peoples partners while they take the credit she would do very well.

It started off with breakfast, croissants with three different types of fillings. Ham and cheese; pastrami, fetta and guacamole; and salmon with cream cheese. Impressive no? Then she gave me my present which included a bunch of stuff to use in south america and a couple of canvas prints from the website zen pencils, if you've never heard of it I highly recommend checking it out. You can find it here.

We then went for a trip down to Daylesford where we visited a hot springs spa resort and got in a fine bout of relaxing. This was followed by a trip to the bakery where I got an amazing steak and mushroom pie. Somehow they always seem better in the country. On the way back to Melbourne I got this shot, which was really just an effort to capture the landscape we were passing through. I also had to walk through quite a bit of brambles to get it and received a number of thorns in my legs. In retaliation I photographed them...they didn't really seem to mind.

Once back home it wasn't too long until Jonathan came over, Dom came home and the four of us went to get some mexican for dinner. Not before Dom gave Jono and I the incredible gift of a garmin gps sports watch! Dinner was exceptional, as mexican always is, and now we're having a few drinks and about to eat a amazingly delicious looking cake Holly made for us.

Birthday Status: An exceptional, enjoyable success. And thanks to everyone for their kind birthday wishes.
