Many thanks for all your interest in the Bridge Hole Project. I have started a new BlipFolio – Bridge Hole - to show updates of the work in progress. The grand news is that the original metal railings are to be retained. Furthermore the bridge will be illuminated from underneath – well it will when the Council can afford the lighting !

I think Filey must have won the Lottery - hence my blip for today. They started demolishing part of the sea defences to rebuild these as well. You wait for one gang of workmen to come along and then they all arrive.

Sporty Bit . . .tonight in the UK will be tomorrow in Oz – and so the next Ashes series will begin. I cannot help but think it is too soon – and hope the side that plays the better cricket wins through and that technology takes a back seat.

Finally congratulations to the City of Hull in East Yorkshire. Today it has been awarded City of Culture status for 2017.
