All at Sea

A lovely evening in San Diego followed by a day at sea with the tall ships. I joined a small group charter boat to go out and sea the wonderful Star of India setting sail. In the background there were also the California, America and Amazing Grace which were the first ships to introduce speed sailing to the USA. The America is what the "Americas" Cup competition sailing from UK to USA is named after./ The young upstart USA made this fast ship and challenged the British to a race. The America was such a fast ship the famous UK Navy couldn't catch it starting a competition that still runs today.
